Call Display
In this day and age with all the fancy ring tones and cell phone gadgets, one of the most useful tools on our cell phones must be the caller ID/caller display. Not that I practise call screening at all, but it is pretty handy knowing who you're going to be talking to. Now some people may argue that they like the surprise... but really, the fact the phone rings at all is surprise enough don't you think?
I suppose I should get to my point. My latest pet peeve this week is people who call my phone and don't leave a message. People who call my number know it's a cellular phone, and has caller ID. I can see the number on the call display and can recognize it. 4 missed calls from so-and-so. If you're going to call me four times why not leave a message? Sheesh. That goes for people who only call once in a blue moon, too.
My other related telephone pet peeve is the re-directing of phone numbers on my caller ID. I don't know anyone with a 562 phone number and have assumed that it's been a wrong number... that's called me three times in the last three weeks. Once I called the number back and talked to someone "This is John, who are you looking for?"... buddy had not called me. Weird weird weird.

Movin'
...just like that Supergrass song! Helped Joe and Tracy move yesterday... it didn't take very long at all, considering they have SO MUCH STUFF they've accumulated living together for the past however many years. Anyway I didn't help so much as I stood on the back of Joe's truck and pushed boxes for other people to carry into the house... then moved on to the big van and did much of the same thing. I did carry a few boxes in but the dust/cat dander started its invasion of my immune system... luckily we finished pretty quickly, before long the moving van and Joe's truck had been unloaded and all the big items had been moved to their respective rooms.
Joe and Tracy's house is in South Surrey, a block north of the Surrey-White Rock line. It is a town house in a complex, probably 25 - 30 years old. Pretty nice layout. Quiet neighbourhood. We had a three-year old spy at lunch, who came by to see the new people eating lunch on the patio. Wow, Joe and Tracy are grown-ups now.
Other family news...
Last weekend we had Easter Dinner, got to spend it watching the Canucks game 6 vs. St. Louis and having relatives over. Canucks won, and it was hilarious watching Jaedinn and Dylan running around with my cell phone pretending that it worked. (Keyguard "on") They are starting to say real words now, Jaedinn even tried saying my name ("Cheesha")... and after a while, he even managed to sound out Lena's name when she came by later for cheesecake. Looks like Jaedinn's going to be a big brother now, too, as Annie is due in October. More babies! Tracy's sister Kim is also pregnant, due in December, apparently right around the wedding... Interesting...

Go Canucks Go
Not going to go on about how the Canucks did an awesome job coming back from their 3-1 series deficit to beat St. Louis in Game 7... the trouble with the Canucks are that we know how bad they've been in the past, it's almost too good to be true that they have gotten this far (again)! But I suppose that is all the more reason for the excitement. As the clogged streets of Robson Street are apt to tell you.

Fri left today
oh so sad! She almost missed her flight cuz we were all gabbing at lunch at the airport... hopefully she made it on to the plane alright... if not we should have gotten a call by now!! Anyway, Tanya, Lena, and I saw her off (Michelle was stuck at BCIT)... it was too bad, she wasn't here long enough even though it was more than what she's planned! And it was like she'd never left. Aww, Fri, we'll miss you - see you in.. December??
BTW, checked my actual Sun Run time... 88:28. Woo-hoo! Now if I can beat my time next year by 12 minutes more... muahaha...

Sun Run...
...over!!! I am not so sure of my time but I think it was under 90 minutes like I had aimed... I only guess this based on how long it took for my MD player to loop back to the first song I played after I ran past kilometre 1. I managed to run about 4.5 of 10 km. And when I mean run, I mean jog. I am curious to see what my time ends up being, not only because I want to know how I did, but according to the internet my bib number is wrong. It lists my registration bib number as 33310 or something, but the bib I got said 20961. With someone else's name on it originally, then scratched out and entered with my name. So interesting to see what exactly my time was... if it's not what I expected I'm telling everyone I did it in 85 minutes. Muah. Ha ha. Oh yeah, this time when we started we saw another guy in a hotel room wearing nothing but his underwear, pointed at him, and everyone around us started waving at him and he ran away from the window again too. We're thinking this is the same guy as last year, and he does it every year for a thrill. But he was in a different hotel (the Hyatt vs. the Four Seasons) and was wearing a different kind of underwear (white boxers vs. blue tighties)... maybe he is trying to throw us off.
The rest of the day was spent... btw I am damn tired... lactic acid something, according to the lady at the spa. Junko and I had our 2 Scoops of Skoah for our birthdays today... massage and facial... which was s-o-o-o-o-o-o-o- nice. I forgot that I had pain in my legs from all the running. The massage was very relaxing, I almost fell asleep. Highly recommended. Did a little shopping, and went back to N/J's to chill before dinner. I got in trouble for planting the seed in Fri and Junko's head by singing the first few notes of 'Rock your Body' by Justin Timberlake. They couldn't get it out of their heads. Ironically, I had said it out loud to get it out of my head... didn't work that way... oops.
Anyway, great day. I am tired as hell, but at least I smell good. Mmm, apricot moisturizer. We'll see how well I do at work with all the stairs I have to climb!!

Formal Apology
To buddy, whom I so mercilessly miscontstrued as a mental case. I know you're not. And as you can see, I've taken your story off the site. My apologies, and I am glad we are still friends.

Non-bankable hours
Just found out that if I edit photos for work at home, that I can't bank the hours. Which is kind of a drag.
BUT, my trip yesterday was fun... thinking along the lines of where a 40-foot bus would go in downtown Vancouver. Pretty neat! Will have those pictures up (oh so exciting) sometime this weekend.
Looking forward to the Sun Run... April 13... will probably walk most of it, but if I can, will jog/run half of it courtesy motivation from my MD player. Yeah!
AND AND AND I got my car back. Oh, how I have missed thee. Squeaky brakes and everything.

I SAY I SAY I WANT MA CAR BACK
DAMNIT!
And in other news... I get to do my own tour of downtown Vancouver tomorrow morning! It's not exactly a pleasure trip, but I will be field researching where the buses go when they are downtown. This means I will have to go to Stanley Park (the totem poles), all the major hotels, Gastown, Chinatown... and then meet my group at the train station and give them maps and stuff. I get to claim my mileage (or kilometerage) and parking and coffee if I buy it for a client. Heheh. It looks like it is going to be a fun morning!
(unless I pull an Arthur Dent, who could never get the hang of Thursdays)
Anyways, I hear there are quite a few birthdays coming up. Lots of celebrating = lots of CAKE. Junko's just past, and Lena's, Tanya's, and Michelle's are just around the corner... not to mention Joe, Tracy, and Yuri. And Annie. Wow, that's a lot of people. And a lot of cake. Gee I kinda wish it was my birthday all over again. But I guess one can have cake for no reason. It is the Year of Teresa after all. I will have my cake and eat it too. Muahaha.
(And for those of you reading this thinking, WTF???, yes, I am speaking in esoteric terms of cake.)
I have not done any really good deeds lately, I seem to have run out of inspiration for them. I think, that since I don't have any real problems right now that I am creating them for myself. Hypochondria, personal issues, whatever. Need to externalize. ttyl...
